Sunlight passes through numerous objects. It filters through the rustling leaves and the birds that follow the wind, passes through ancient window frames and glass, and traverses everything and everyone across different moments in time. On the pristine walls of this building, the light, fragmented by geometric window frames, diffracts through double-layered glass, leaving behind delicate imprints of shimmering brilliance. This creates an endlessly unfolding theater - natural light inscribes time through human-made mediums and carriers until it materializes in my eyes. Through the convergence of my emotions, the light and nature's script in the human-made environment once again become my vocabulary, my language for expressing history.

When I describe the past, I always aim to encompass it entirely. Employing various technologies that simulate reality, I replicate what sunlight records as it passes through trees. I emulate the stories told by wood and glass. I imagine how everything within the realm that includes sunlight, trees, and architecture has experienced the arrival of spring, the brightness of summer, or the tumultuousness of autumn. I imagine the trees wishing for stillness while the wind persists." and then I piece together possible time fragments and light shadows to form new narratives, something that can be revisited and retraced at any time.

Similarly, I use a collage approach to work with different types of wood from local historic buildings.

Although these woods belong to structures and functions that are diverse, they are close in age, share similar styles, and have endured turbulent histories.

Ultimately, the time they have experienced converges in my artwork. (Artist statement)
